Harrow's Street Trees: How to request a new tree for your street

Trees are essential for our city's health - they increase air quality, provide shade, help reduce heat and wind speed.  Urban trees can transform a grey, bland street into a green, calm envrionment, one that adds privacy and reduces noise for residentsThey are also vital homes for our city's wildlife.  Read about the 'Health Benefits of Street Trees' in the Forest Research report.

Request a new tree on your street

If you think your road requires a new tree along its verges - perhaps there is a space that would benefit from a new tree - you can request Harrow Council to plant one.

Emailing your request to Harrow Council's Infrastructure Team at infrastructure@harrow.gov.uk they will add your request to a list, check the location and then plant the tree from November to February.  If you email now (Jan/Feb 2021) they will aim to replace the trees next planting season, Winter 2021-22.  Read more about Harrow's Trees and the tree services Harrow Council provide.

This is an easy way to ensure that Harrow continues to be a green and healthy place for us and our local wildlife to live.

Harrow has around 300,000 trees, with 21,000 of those along the borough's roads.  Watch Harrow Biodiversity's The Woodland Trust Tree Charter video from November 2020 to view some of the wonderful green spaces that we have in Harrow and learn more about our precious trees, including the Master Oak in Bentley Priory, the oldest oak in Middlesex.
